If you choose the Celtic Basic Health Plan for your needs, you get a quality Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan with a nationwide network. Celtic Health keeps this option affordable for the public by offering different deductible levels. You can set your deductible at $1,500, $2,500 or $5,000, depending on how much of your health care costs you are prepared to pay for yourself. The Basic option gives you 80/20 coinsurance once you meet your annual deductible. This plan also gives you a lifetime limit of $5 million in lifetime coverage. The CeltiCare Preferred Health Plan is a good choice for the self-employed, as well as people who are looking for coverage for themselves and their families. The funds in the savings account collect interest on a tax-free basis until you withdraw them to pay for health care expenses. As long as you use the funds for this purpose, you can access them on a tax-free basis. The CelticSaver plan gives adults between the ages of 18 and 64 1/2 a lifetime maximum of $7 million in coverage. Deductibles for the Celtic Saver range from $1,500 to $5,000 for individuals and $3,000 to $10,000 for families. You can choose an 80/20 coinsurance or 100 percent plan after you reach the deductible level you have chosen.

“I went through e-health insurance to get a 1-month bridge policy for me and my son while between jobs. Once I was approved they told me that I wouldn’t be eligible for coverage until a week after I was eligible for coverage at my new job, mind you this was weeks away. I called e-health insurance and they gave me an email address to send a note to tell them the situation and they told me that I would be canceled and reimbursed. I sent 3 emails with no response. I finally called them and explained my situation to a PERSON named Naomi. She told me that my email was sent within the timeframe that would allow a refund. She called me back at work 5 minutes later, gleefully telling me that “”we have you on a technicality”” you didn’t type your full name at the end of the email that you sent us to cancel. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. No one ever told me to do so, and does it matter? And shouldn’t they have reached out to me when they noticed that I didn’t sign my name? NO, they waited until their cancel timeframe ended…Or, do they think that someone hacked my email and maliciously canceled my health insurance to sabotage me? I asked for a manager to call to discuss 3 x and have not yet received a call. This is a VERY DIRTY company. STAY AWAY! There are way better options out there. e-health insurance should be more careful as to whom they use to represent them!”

I called to cancel my policy the same day it was approved due to an elimination rider put on the policy. They told me to send a request in writing. I was told I would receive a full refund if cancelled within 20 days of approval. I faxed them a letter stating my cancellation. A few weeks later I got a letter in the mail (mind you that they waited until AFTER the 20 cancellation period to send this letter) stating that my cancellation could not be completed due to lack of signature on the bottom of the fax. I called Celtic and they said that the cancellation did not become effective until the date I sent a signed fax and would not be getting a refund for my $168.96. I am considering taking legal action – even though it is only $169, it is the fact that they are trying to scam people like this!”

You cashed my check for health insurance coverage for a different time period than my application was for. That left me without health insurance and by law, I’m suppose to have it and I paid for it. You cashed my check, you ratified a contract and you are at fault. You will see my name again. As far as rating this plan, I am disgusted with the quality of service and they have put me as risk. I believed I had healthcare coverage for over 2 weeks. And I just found out that I’m not insured. Nice. You had no problem cashing my check. Never ever use Celticare. Loser company all the way . I have to call every single time to see why and they never know the answer. It’s always..we’ll run it back through. My husband is seriously considering cancelling the policy and just dealing with what comes. Absolutely ridiculous excuse for an insurance company. I don’t have time to call them over and over with the amount we are paying. We are hoping his company adds insurance soon so we can get out of this policy. If you’re thinking about using them…RUN.”

Example: the benefits sheet states ER – $250 copay(waived if admitted). It says nothing about deductible, coinsurance, etc. Well, they are refusing to pay an er claim. We paid the $250 and have received an $800 bill. I spoke with Celtic and they claim that we have to pay for test, etc.

They mishandled a payment, tried to double charge me, and then a month later says I still owe them money for past payments when I’m trying to cancel, and I’m sitting here looking at the receipt for the payment.. And their customer service refuses to listen.

We went through our $10000 deductible in less than 3 weeks. Since then, I have haggle with Celtic over various bills numerous times. I have even had to get our state’s insurance overseer to intervene when Celtic refused to cover expenses they are required to pay for under state law. I cannot believe the amount of time I and others have had to spend dealing with these unpaid claims, or what an inefficient company Celtic is. I would not recommend Celtic Insurance to anyone.”
